Caitlin Clark's Heated Six-Word Message to WNBA Referee Revealed in New Video

After getting a full offseason under her belt, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever appear ready to begin the 2025 WNBA regular season.

On Saturday, Clark and the Fever defeated Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream 81-76, securing a perfect 3-0 preseason record under new head coach Stephanie White.

Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, had another solid outing for Indiana, tallying 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, six rebounds and seven assists. Lexie Hull added 14 points off the bench.

However, with 5:35 remaining in the second quarter, Clark picked up her first technical foul of 2025 after arguing with an official. Newcomer Sophie Cunningham stepped in, trying to pull Clark away and diffuse the situation.

A new angle of the heated exchange between Clark and the official was posted on social media, revealing the former Iowa star's message after receiving the technical.

WNBA fans were amused by Clark's confrontation with the official, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

"She got her sassy shoes on," one fan joked.

"I don't wanna see this ref near CC again," wrote a second.

"I know that lady hates her," claimed a third.

"CC never gon get whistle might as well get sassy," commented a fourth.

"Oh, this ref really doesn't like her. The facial expression tells everything. CCs cold af," added another.

"this diva," said a sixth.

During her rookie season in 2024, Clark was tied for the second-most technical fouls, totaling six during the regular season. Had she picked up one more, Clark would have been suspended for one game.

The only players to receive more techs than her last year were the Mercury's Diana Taurasi and Natasha Cloud, and the Wings' Teaira McCowan.

Now, Clark and the Fever will move on to the regular season, hosting Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET.
