A postgame meeting between Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles has gone viral after fans noticed just how tall the WNBA standout looked next to the gold medalist.
The Fever’s official social media account shared a photo and short clip of the pair chatting and sharing a hug after Indiana’s 88-78 win over the Dallas Wings on August 1.
While the moment was wholesome, the image quickly lit up online thanks to the striking height difference between the two athletes.
“Either she’s 4’3 or CC had a growth spurt ,” one joked.
“And she has high heels on CC only 6ft, that girl gotta be 4’3,” another chimed in.
Some reactions simply marveled at the visual contrast.
“CC looks towering next to her,” one wrote,
“Jordan is tiny. Smol baddie ,” another quipped.
A few fans even turned the moment into a lighthearted fact check, noting, “I think CC is 6’0.”
Others reacted with excitement over the crossover of two sports stars, posting, “Worlds are colliding omgggg.”
Clark, listed at 6 feet tall, has been sidelined for six straight games due to a right groin injury. Despite her absence on the court, she has remained an active presence, standing near head coach Stephanie White during games, arguing calls and keeping her teammates energized from the bench.
Chiles, who stands at just 4 feet 11 inches, attended the game to support the Dallas Wings. The two-time Olympian and multiple NCAA champion has been one of the most decorated gymnasts of her generation, bringing home gold and bronze medals from the 2024 Paris Games.
When the final buzzer sounded, Clark greeted Chiles courtside with a smile and a hug. The interaction came with a playful remark from Clark.
“You had a Dallas Wings hat on, but I’ll let it slide… No, just kidding. It’s cool!” Clark said.
Chiles laughed and explained that she has a custom hat for every WNBA team and wore the Wings cap simply because the game was in Dallas.
While the internet had fun with the visual, the moment was also a reminder of the stature both athletes hold in their respective sports.
Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, has been a headline name since being drafted No. 1 overall by the Fever. Her historic college career and immediate impact on the pro game earned her Time Magazine’s Athlete of the Year recognition.
Chiles, meanwhile, is a 16-time All-American, three-time NCAA champion, and Olympic medalist who has earned multiple perfect scores in competition. She was named one of Time’s Women of the Year and continues to be a key figure in gymnastics worldwide.
The meeting with Chiles came as the Fever extended their winning streak to four games, improving their record to 16-12. Even though she has not suited up recently, Clark remains a central figure in Indiana’s momentum.
