The Indiana Fever dominated their way to an impressive 88–71 win on Tuesday night against the Connecticut Sun, punching their ticket to the Commissioner’s Cup on July 1 against the Minnesota Lynx.

However, the victory didn’t come without drama. Caitlin Clark and Sun guard Jacy Sheldon went back and forth throughout the game, a heated exchange that eventually reached a boiling point. After Clark gave Sheldon a slight nudge following an aggressive defensive play, Sheldon’s teammate Mariana Mabrey shoved Clark to the floor.

The altercation resulted in technical fouls for Clark, Mabrey, and Sun forward Tina Charles, while Sheldon was assessed a flagrant one. Later in the second half, tensions flared again as Sheldon and Fever guard Sophie Cunningham were both ejected after shoving each other into the first row following a hard foul by Cunningham on a Sheldon layup attempt.

The WNBA’s decision to issue Clark and Mabrey the same-level technical foul — despite Mabrey’s shove — sparked criticism from fans and media alike. Sun head coach Stephanie White was particularly vocal postgame, calling out the officiating in a fiery press conference.

Cameras captured Caitlin Clark’s reaction as White remarked, “Everybody’s getting better except the officials,”—prompting a hilarious, telling facial expression from Clark that spoke volumes without her saying a word.

Fans reacted to Clark's expression:

fan said, "She’s like 'ATE'"

Someone else added, "Love Clark’s expressions! I bet as a kid she probably got into some trouble because of her expressions."

Another fan posted, "She kills me omg."

"Big TRUE," one more fan commented.

At the beginning of the season, Clark jokingly said she’d only pick up a maximum of two technical fouls all year. But through just 11 games, she’s already hit that mark—picking up two in her last two outings. Last season, she recorded six technicals, falling just one short of the seven required for a one-game suspension.
