Caitlin Clark received some good news ahead of the Indiana Fever’s home matchup against the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday night.

After leading her team to a perfect 3-0 record in their last three games, the WNBA honored Clark as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. The 24-year-old achieved this latest feat behind averages of 25.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists.

More importantly, Clark’s strong play helped lead the Fever to an 8-5 record on the season.

Clark and Co. kept it going on Tuesday night. They blew out the Tempo, 113-91, en route to their fourth straight victory.

Clark registered 21 points, five rebounds, a season-high 14 assists, a steal, one block and one three-pointer in 32 minutes of action.

Caitlin Clark credits Fever teammates after Player of the Week win

Clark was asked about her latest honor ahead of Tuesday’s game. However, instead of taking all the credit, the two-time WNBA All-Star immediately pointed to her teammates.

“I think it’s just, obviously, an award of how we’re playing right now,” she said. “And I think obviously stringing three together, and they were all pretty close, and I wouldn’t be able to do what I do if it wasn’t for my teammates. So it’s just as much theirs as it is mine.”

This says a lot. Clark may be one of the best players in the WNBA today, but she never fails to give her teammates the credit she believes they deserve with every one of her personal accolades.

Clark then highlighted the progress the Fever have made of late as they approach the midway point of the WNBA season.

“I think the exciting part is we have so much room to continue to improve. And I know there’s a lot of discussion around we have blowed these leads. And we haven’t really found ways to find a blowout win,” she continued. “One, this league is really hard. And two, OK, well, I guess we’re winning close games because down the stretch that’s going to be really, really important.

“So good thing we’re getting the practice now. And hopefully that’s something we can take in late in the season when you really need those wins late and into the playoffs.”

Clark and Co. delivered on Tuesday night. This was one of their most impressive performances of the season as they dominated the Tempo en route to a 22-point blowout.

Up next for the Fever is a home game against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Thursday. Clark pointed out how important this stretch will be for her team.

“Just excited for our group,” said the Fever superstar. “Feel like we’re putting together some good games.

“And then obviously these two this week at home before we go on the road this weekend are another great opportunity for us to continue to build our win streak.”
