Saturday’s game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse featured a back-and-forth battle between the Indiana Fever and the defending champion New York Liberty.
Neither team led by more than 12 points until the final minutes, but the Liberty’s late-game surge carried them to a 90-88 win over Indiana.
While Fever star Caitlin Clark finished with a near triple-double (18 points, 10 assists), she struggled from the floor, shooting 6-for-18 overall and just 2-for-11 from 3-point range.
Following the loss, Clark faced the media and acknowledged her off-night candidly:
"Not my best shooting night. I thought I could take care of the ball a little bit better. Had some tough ones, ones where my arm was getting grabbed, but whatever. But yeah, just keep battling through it, keep shooting it."

In Saturday's contest, veteran center Jonquel Jones paced New York with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Sabrina Ionescu added 23 points and drilled two crucial late-game free throws to put the Liberty up for good.
Indiana’s Aliyah Boston recorded a double-double (27 points, 13 rebounds), while guards Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull each chipped in 15 points apiece.
Clark joined the Fever roster as the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, following a historic career at the University of Iowa.
She left college as the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer (3,951), shattered single-season and single-game assist records, and earned multiple All-American selections.
In her rookie year (2024), Clark wasted little time making her mark. She won WNBA Rookie of the Year, earned All-WNBA First Team honors, and was selected to the All-Star Game.
Clark set league rookie records for points (769) and assists (337), and became the first WNBA rookie ever to record a triple-double.
