Caitlin Clark's True Feelings After Avoiding WNBA Suspension

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was able to avoid a one-game suspension following her latest technical foul. Naturally, she's happy that the WNBA quickly addressed it.

To recall, Clark received her eighth technical foul of the season during the Fever's game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday. Late in the third quarter, the All-Star guard accidentally made contact with a referee after bumping into Natasha Cloud.

Apparently, the game official thought Clark ran into her on purpose, prompting her to blow the whistle and call a tech. After the game, the 24-year-old playmaker emphasized that it was all accidental.

According to the WNBA's rules, a player's eighth tech carries a $1,500 fine and a one-game suspension. That meant Clark would not have been allowed to play in Tuesday's showdown with the New York Liberty.

Fortunately, the WNBA reviewed the play after the game and quickly made the decision to rescind the call, reverting her technical foul count to seven.

Now, prior to the Fever's game against the Liberty, Clark talked about the WNBA's move to rescind her tech and emphasized that it's the "right decision."

"I mean, obviously, I think it's the right decision," Clark told reporters. She added that she also talked to crew chief Maj Forsberg, who told her during the game that "she was going to go back and look at it."

"I felt good coming out of that, too," Clark added. "I think they did their report or whatever and then it was quickly communicated that, obviously, what the ref interpreted was not actually the case of what happened."

After avoiding suspension, Clark was naturally pumped up to play, "So, I'm just happy they got it right and excited to be able to play tonight."

While it's certainly good news that Clark didn't get suspended, the fact remains that she has seven technical fouls. With that said, she certainly needs to be more careful.

After all, out of the eight techs Clark has received this season, her latest call is the only one that got overturned, which speaks volumes about how rare such an instance is.
