The Connecticut Sun hosts the Minnesota Lynx in Game 3 of their best-of-five series. The Sun will play on their home court, as this game will be at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Minnesota

The Lynx were the better team during the season but have had difficulty navigating the Sun’s defense. They tied the series after a win in the second game.

Minnesota was a strong road team this season with a 14-5 record and will need to win one of these games in Connecticut to force a decisive fifth game in the series.

The key for the Lynx will be getting star forward Naphesa Collier better looks on the offensive end. She was a force this season, averaging 20 points per game and nearly 10 rebounds.

She had several games where she scored over 35 points or more. However, the Sun have shut her down in this series.

She’s been limited to 30% shooting, luckily, Courtney Williams and the rest of the team picked up the scoring to tie the series.

Collier’s supporting cast was able to secure the victory in the second game, but if the Lynx want to move past the Sun, they’ll need the best version of Collier to show up in this series.

Connecticut

The Sun were the best defensive team in the league this season, while the Lynx were the second-best. The first two games of the series have been low-scoring. This series has been a defensive slugfest with each team struggling to score.

While the Lynx have not been able to get their best offensive player going, the same thing can be said for the Sun. Dewanna Bonner has had difficulty scoring on the offensive end as well.

She went 5-15 in the second game to get to 17 points, but didn’t have the most efficient performance.

Alyssa Thomas has stepped up for the Sun, scoring 17 in the first game and 18 in the second game to lead the team. While she has been the best player for the Sun in this series, they also have had role players step up.

Marina Mabrey was able to explode for 20 points in the first game of the series and added 15 in the second. The rest of the team has been able to handle the scoring load in this close fought series.

Lynx-Sun Best Bet

This game feels like a coin toss. I don’t feel comfortable siding with either team, because I could see either one winning tonight. The Sun are favored by 2.5 points on the spread and priced at -135 on the moneyline.

I’m going to steer away from both of those and target the total. The total opened at 151.5 and has stayed at that same number. From everything I’ve seen, defense is both of these teams calling cards and they’ve yet to come close to a total of 150 in either game.

I’ll take Under 151.5 points at -110 odds in this one.
