Carson Hocevar rocks Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever jersey at NASCAR All-Star Race

Carson Hocevar is already promoting the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game at Gainbridge Arena in Indianapolis, Ind., on his No. 77 Chevrolet. But during driver introductions for the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Hocevar took it a step further.

Hocevar came out wearing a No. 22 Caitlin Clark jersey. Clark, of course, is the Indiana Fever guard who plays her homes games inside Gainbridge Arena. It just makes sense as a neat collaboration between Spire Motorsports and Gainbridge.

Both Hocevar and Clark are riding highs. Saturday, Clark posted a 20-10-20 triple-double in the Fever’s 93-58 season-opening victory over the Chicago Sky.

Carson Hocevar clinches spot in All-Star Race

Hocevar, meanwhile, had some work to do if he wanted to be a part of Sunday’s 250-lap main event at North Wilkesboro. Enter the All-Star Open, where the winner and second-place finisher would advance to the All-Star Race.

Hocevar took the checkered flag, securing his spot in the 23-car field. He will start 21st, racing for the $1 million check. Hocevar will have his work cut out for him competing against the Cup Series’ best. But if we’ve learned anything from his short tenure in NASCAR, he’ll do just about anything to win.

“Yeah, super big for this group, this team,” Hocevar told Regan Smith of FOX Sports. “It was great to win, especially being challenged by tires there, I had my hands full. We definitely have to go to work here on our race car because I didn’t really like it, but it’s a good sign I didn’t really like it and we were still pretty quick.

“Hopefully, we can take advantage of it. I’ve seen Kasey Kahne and others win from the open and stuff. Maybe we can take the advantage of having his notebook and move forward and be able to take this Indiana Fever Gainbridge Chevy to the front.”
