The Chicago Sky delivered one of their strongest first-half performances of the season on Tuesday night against the Washington Mystics, heading into halftime with a 44-32 lead.
However, the Sky’s recurring third-quarter struggles reappeared, as the Mystics outscored them 24-12 in the frame to tie the game at 56 heading into the fourth quarter.
Despite a determined effort from forward Angel Reese, who tried to will her team to a second straight victory, the Sky ultimately fell short, losing 79-72. Washington’s Brittney Sykes led all scorers with 32 points in the win.
Following the loss, which dropped Chicago to 3-8 on the season, the team announced that Reese had been named “Player of the Game” for the second consecutive outing. The rookie continues to gain momentum as she settles into her rhythm on both ends of the floor.
"ANOTHA ONE," Sky posted.

Reese finished with a team-high 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block. She showed notable efficiency, shooting 7-of-13 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. The only blemish on her stat line was a game-high seven turnovers, part of the Sky’s 22 total turnovers on the night.
The Sky won’t return to action until Saturday afternoon when they host the 8-4 Phoenix Mercury for the second time this season. Chicago dropped the first meeting in dramatic fashion, 94-89, despite a strong performance from Angel Reese, who finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
