Chicago Sky Make Exciting Post on Thursday

Despite a tough 4-10 start to the 2025 season, the Chicago Sky continue to draw attention in the Windy City. The team sits just ahead of the Connecticut Sun in the Eastern Conference standings, but enters Friday’s road matchup on a high note after a win over the Los Angeles Sparks.

Up next is a road game against the Golden State Valkyries, and the Sky are looking to keep momentum on their side.

Chicago remains an interesting team to follow with a mix of young, marketable talent and a new head coach bringing energy to the organization.

On the court, the Sky are averaging just 77.9 points per game, ranking 12th out of 13 WNBA teams. They’re more competitive on the glass, sitting sixth in rebounds (35.4 per game) and sixth in assists (19.8 per game).

Ariel Atkins leads the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game. Angel Reese, now in her second season, continues to be a double-double machine with 11.3 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.

Rookie Kamilla Cardoso is also emerging as a reliable contributor, averaging 12.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. She will be away from the team until July 6 while she plays for Brazil in the AmeriCup tournament.

The Sky are playing the rest of the season without veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot, who is out with a torn ACL.
