Caitlin Clark is off to a hot start for the Indiana Fever in 2026. The two-time WNBA All-Star has averaged 22.0 points on 45.7% shooting in her first two games of the new season.
Clark was back on the court on Friday as the Fever hosted the Washington Mystics in a home matchup at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Before tipoff, the 24-year-old took center stage as she was honored by the organization for her latest career milestone.
Earlier this week, Clark scored her 1,000th career point . The team celebrated Clark’s incredible feat ahead of Friday’s game. Fever icon Tamika Catchings presented Clark with a commemorative basketball at center court.
Clark kept her foot on the gas against the Mystics. This time around, it was her playmaking that was on full display.
With her third assist in the game, Clark rewrote the Fever history books yet again. The former WNBA Rookie of the Year entered the Top 5 for most assists in franchise history after dishing out her 471st dime. Clark achieved this impressive feat in just 56 games.
The Fever took to social media to announce Clark’s latest career milestone.
“Climbing the ranks Congratulations to Caitlin Clark on moving into fifth place on our franchise’s all-time assists list ” the team posted on Instagram.

Congratulations quickly poured in from Clark as the fans celebrated another historic achievement.
“Congratulations CC!!!!” a comment on Instagram read.
“BOSS,” said another.
“5th in year 3-ish. that’s crazy,” a user wrote.
“Congratulations ” a reaction read.
“CC will be number when all said and done” declared a fan.
“Congrats to the GOAT,” said another.
Right above Clark on the Fever’s all-time assists list is teammate Kelsey Mitchell, who has 803 to her name, and counting. Fittingly, the No. 1 player on the list is Catchings, who dished out 1,488 dimes in 457 games played.
For context, Clark is averaging 8.4 assists per game in her Fever career. Catchings averaged 3.2. If Clark keeps up this pace, it should only be a matter of time before she claims the top spot from the Hall of Fame forward.
