In a WNBA matchup where Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese were the headliners, it was Dallas' rookie head coach Chris Koclanes who turned himself into a main talking point on social media.
The Wings lost to the Sky 97-92, giving Chicago and head coach Tyler Marsh their first win of the season. Kamilla Cardoso led the Sky with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Courtney Vandersloot had 13 points and became the leading scorer in franchise history.
Dallas star Arike Ogunbowale exploded for 37 points and Bueckers added 15, but it was not enough to overcome the hungry Sky team down the stretch. When asked to evaluate the performance, Koclanes' postgame comments left fans unable to take him seriously.
“I thought you saw good rhythm, good chemistry," Koclanes said. "Just kind of vibing out there and feeling it out with each other."
"I thought the ball moved, lots of assists again tonight," he added. "Credit to our post game as well… encouraged by our play tonight on that side of the ball."
While the backcourt was fun to watch, Wings fans were hoping for more than "vibes."

"'Vibing out there tonight' is what happens when the team doesn’t have an effective coach," stated one user.
"It's gonna be a long season," responded a fan.
Dallas dropped to 1-5 on the season with the loss, the worst record in the Western Conference. Koclanes' only win came against the winless Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.
At 85.3 points per game, Dallas' fourth-ranked scoring offense is doing enough to win games. However, the vibes on defense are not as good. Koclanes' team is averaging 88.3 points allowed per game, 12th out of 13 teams in the WNBA.
The Wings travel back home to play the Sky again on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET at the College Park Center in Arlington.
