Retired WNBA star and Diana Taurasi knows what month it is. The UConn Huskies legend is feeling the spirit of March Madness, and just like millions of basketball fans, she's also got her bracket ready.
In a recent social media post, the 42-year-old Taurasi revealed her pick to win the women's NCAA Tournament, and unsurprisingly, she's got her alma mater, the No. 2 seed Huskies squad of Geno Auriemma winning it all in the Big Dance.
"I'm picking UConn to go all the way this #MarchMadness! Tell me who you got in the @capitalone bracket challenge!" Taurasi wrote for the caption that accompanied a picture of her bracket.

Perhaps more interesting was the team Taurasi predicts will meet the Huskies in the national title game, which is the No. 1 seed and reigning national champs, South Carolina Gamecocks.
Dawn Staley's Gamecocks won the 2024 edition of the NCAA Tournament by defeating Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the national title game. The Hawkeyes stopped UConn in that tourney, with Clark and company beating the Huskies in the Final Four.
If the Huskies and the Gamecocks end up meeting in the NCAA Tournament's championship game this time around, Taurasi and UConn's supporters have a good reason to believe their team can get the job done.
The then-seventh-ranked Huskies drubbed the then-fourth-ranked Gamecocks in a February 87-58 victory at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina during the regular season.
But first, the Huskies will have to overcome multiple challenges if they are to reach the final game of the tourney, including this coming Saturday's first-round matchup against the No. 15 seed Arkansas State Red Wolves.
