Dream Owner Campaigns For Naz Hillmon to Win 2 WNBA Awards

Atlanta Dream owner Renee Montgomery showed her support for forward Naz Hillmon on Sunday. Following the Dream's 99-83 victory over the Washington Mystics, Montgomery believes Hillmon can win two WNBA awards by the end of the season.

Naz Hillmon was a significant part of the Atlanta Dream's 99-83 win over the Washington Mystics on Sunday. Hillmon played 35 minutes as the starting forward and finished with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. She also dished out five assists in the contest.

It was her second double-double of the WNBA season. Her first double-double game of the season was also against the Mystics. On June 15, the Dream had an 89-56 blowout victory against the Washington franchise. Hillmon recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds and five assists on 57.1% shooting from the field.

Dream's Owner Thinks Hillmon is Qualified to Win 2 Awards

Due to the recent stretch of games Hillmon has had, Dream owner Renee Montgomery campaigned for the forward to win at least two WNBA awards. Montgomery, who used to be the starting point guard of the team, posted on X that the current forward can win the Sixth Woman of the Year and the Most Improved Player.

In the last 11 games for Hillmon, she has averaged 11.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists on 49.4% shooting from the field. She also had one 20-point game this season. Overall, she's putting up 8.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

She's played two games as a starter this season, but has spent most of her time playing off the bench. Compared to the previous season, when she averaged 5.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, Hillmon's numbers this year are better.
