Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky needed a spark—and they found it. With the season proving to be an uphill climb, the Sky got a much-needed bounce-back win on Wednesday night, defeating the Dallas Wings, 87–76, at Wintrust Arena and ending their two-game losing streak.
And of course, Reese took the celebration straight to social media.
“DUBS IN THE CHATTTTT,” she posted on X, bringing the vibes after a strong showing.
Reese did what she’s been doing all season—crashing the boards, putting up points, and leading with confidence. She finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds on an efficient 6-of-10 shooting night. It was her 13th straight double-double, keeping her firmly in the league lead in rebounds with 13.1 per game.
The energy might be tied to what’s been a headline-making week for the Sky rookie. Not only was Reese selected to Napheesa Collier’s All-Star team for the second straight year—where she’ll be facing off against her old rival, Caitlin Clark—but she also made history off the court.
“Celebrating the bold, the confident and the visionaries”: NBA2K Explains decision to put Angel Reese on the cover this year
Angel Reese’s breakout WNBA campaign just reached another level. Earlier this week, she was revealed as the cover athlete for the NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition—making her one of the youngest players ever to land the honor.
While fans widely embraced Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the face of the standard edition after winning an NBA title with OKC, Reese’s inclusion on the WNBA cover sparked debate across social media. But for NBA2K, the choice was clear.
“NBA 2K26 is celebrating the bold, the confident, and the visionaries — and WNBA All-Star Angel Reese carries all that on and off the court,” said NBA2K general manager Zak Armitage in a statement to TMZ.
“In her sophomore year in the WNBA, Angel Reese has made waves, created impactful conversations, and inspired the next generation. She’s a storyteller and has helped the WNBA grow its audience.”
Reese joins Carmelo Anthony, who graces the Superstar Edition, while a fourth edition features a trio cover starring Reese, Anthony, and Gilgeous-Alexander.
It’s been a big week for the Chi-Town Barbie—on the court, on the cover, and in the conversation.
