PHOENIX — Phoenix Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts has been listed as ESPN’s front-runner for WNBA Coach of the Year.
Despite injuries to several key players this season, Tibbetts has taken a group filled with fresh faces to a winning record in their first 10 games. Mercury’s 6-4 record is second to the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty — who are both undefeated.
ESPN credits Tibbetts and Satou Sabally for helping lead Phoenix, but also rookies who have done their fair share of impact for the team.
