Indiana Fever: Kelsey Mitchell moves up in a Fever franchise record list

Mitchell’s four assists pushed her career total 910 and moved  into second place in the all-time Fever assists list. She passed Briann January’s 909, and the four-time All-Star now only trails Tamika Catchings, who recorded 1,488.

Mitchell also recorded her 24th consecutive regular-season game with 20-plus points, extending her WNBA record. More importantly, Indiana won its second straight matchup and are currently fourth in the standings with a 26-14 slate. The team leads the Atlanta Dream by half a game and is behind the Las Vegas Aces by the same margin.

The Fever have four games left on their schedule. They have three weeks to prepare for them and the playoffs as the league enters its FIBA World Cup break. Mitchell and Co. will face the Toronto Tempo on Sept. 18 at Coca-Cola Coliseum. Every win is crucial for them as they battle for a top three seed. The good news is a two-game home stand follows before a road matchup versus the Minnesota Lynx to wrap up the regular season.
