Fever Announce Stephanie White's Move Amid WNBA Offseason

Stephanie White had a memorable first season with the Indiana Fever. The former WNBA Coach of the Year joined the Fever in the offseason after two years as the Connecticut Sun’s head coach.

Indiana had a tumultuous campaign that was marred by injury. Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunnningham and three other players suffered season-ending injuries before the WNBA playoffs. White, however, was still able to lead a shorthanded Fever side to the semifinals. They lost to the eventual champions, the Las Vegas Aces, after a thrilling five-game series.

White made a public appearance on Wednesday night. The Fever took to social media to share the coach’s offseason move.

White was at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday. The 48-year-old returned to the Fever’s home arena, but it was not for the usual reason. This time around, White came as a fan, supporting the Indiana Pacers.

The Fever and the Pacers share the same arena. On Wednesday, the Pacers hosted the Toronto Raptors, and White sat courtside to show her support.

The Fever took to social media to announce White’s attendance.

“head coach Stephanie White in the building supporting the @pacers ” the team posted on Instagram.

Unfortunately, the Pacers suffered a defeat with White in attendance. They fell to the Raptors, 115-101, behind the strong play of Brandon Ingram (30 points, seven rebounds) and Scottie Barnes (26 points, 13 assists).

Pacers star Pascal Siakam turned in an inspired performance against his former team, logging 26 points and 10 rebounds. It wasn’t enough, though, as the Pacers dropped to 9-32 on the season.

White’s appearance at the Pacers game follows Cunningham’s attendance on Monday night. The Fever guard watched the Pacers defeat the Boston Celtics, 98-96.
