Stephanie White’s Indiana Fever secured an 81–76 win in their second matchup against the Atlanta Dream at State Farm Arena. Compared to Tuesday, the Fever’s defense looked much sharper.
After the game, White reflected on matchups against Dream that always stay close until the final minutes.
"I don't feel like we match up well with them. I mean, they're tough to handle. Obviously, they've got a lot of Olympians." White joked, drawing some laughs from the media.
"They're quick and skilled on the perimeter. They're big and strong and tough on the interior." She continued. "They're experienced. I feel like we have to use our versatility to combat some of that size that they have, and we have to use our depth to be able to try to wear down.
"They're really great guards. That's why it takes a collective effort, and the contributions that we got from our bench were huge."
Neither team’s top star played at their best. Caitlin Clark picked up four early fouls, which kept her out of heavy physical play. She also struggled to find her usual scoring touch, contributing just 11 points to the team’s total.
"Big plays at key moments."

Brittney Griner committed all six of her fouls, which cost her the final minutes of the game. In the 25 minutes she played, she could add only five points to the score.
Up next on Saturday, the Fever face an in-form New York Liberty, who won last night’s match against Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky, putting up a dominant 99 points in a 25-point victory.
Meanwhile, the Dream will face Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings on the same night.
