It's hard to believe, but the WNBA season has completed its first full week of competition.
There are two undefeated teams, the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx, while the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings are still winless.
Looking back at the first week of the 2025 WNBA season, here are seven things we learned.
Napheesa Collier is the early WNBA MVP
It's only a week. Things can change, and Caitlin Clark has improved, but Napheesa Collier is the WNBA MVP through four games.
On Friday, Collier scored 33 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out three assists and had three steals as the Lynx rallied from a 14-point deficit to knock off the Sun.
Collier is averaging 29.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game. She's also shooting lights out: 56.2 percent overall from the field, 53.8 percent from three-point range and 93.5 percent from the charity stripe.
The season is 44 games long. But right now, Collier is the MVP, and it's not close.
Liberty, Lynx haven't dropped off
Again, it's early, and we'll find out a lot when the Indiana Fever and New York Liberty square off Saturday on national television. Yet, if the first week is any indication, we are headed for a WNBA Finals rematch.
Natasha Cloud has been a godsend for the Liberty. They look even better than they did last season, and the bench has been productive.
Other contenders will emerge. Keep an eye on Seattle in that regard, as well as Las Vegas and Indiana. But so far, the Liberty and Lynx have been the WNBA's best teams.
Caitlin Clark has raised her game
We haven't seen anywhere close to the best from Clark, although she dazzled with her triple-double in the season opener. She's scoring 19.3 points a game, which is close to last season.
However, Clark is shooting the ball slightly better from the field and three-point range. She's also reduced her turnovers down to 3.3 per game.
Defensively, Clark is making more of an impact. Her assists and rebounds are up, and the second-year jump is real.
Angel Reese has been bad
Reese is a lightning rod for debate, but this season, she's struggled mightily. The former LSU star is shooting just 22.7 percent on two-point attempts.
That's supposed to be her bread and butter. Reese is averaging 14.5 rebounds per game, yet if she wants to be in the same discussion as Clark, or if she wants the Sky to start playing better, she needs to elevate her game.
Indiana's offseason moves paid off
The Fever needed to upgrade their defense, so they hired a new head coach and made some key signings. So far, it's worked like a dream.
DeWanna Bonner, Sydney Colson and Natasha Howard have helped Indiana's defense go from 11th in defensive rating to No. 1 so far in the 2025 WNBA season.
Indiana already has a high ceiling, but if the Fever suddenly have an elite defense, they'll be a title contender.
Paige Bueckers belongs
Through three games, Bueckers' numbers have been quite similar to Caitlin Clark's last season. Dallas hasn't won a game yet, but nearly knocked off Minnesota.
Regardless, Bueckers will live up to the hype, and she will be the WNBA Rookie of the Year. We have seen enough to know that.
The playoff picture is wide open
Fans of the Sky and Sun might be worried, but every team still has hope, even the Wings. Minnesota and New York look like the WNBA's best teams, but after that, the league is wide open.
Get your popcorn ready.
