The Indiana Fever managed to take down WNBA MVP A'Ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces with an impressive offensive display despite being 8.5-point underdogs entering the contest.
"We wanted to come in and be the aggressor right away," Fever coach Stephanie White said, "to make sure that we were dictating on the defensive end, and we were dictating from a pace standpoint."
The Fever did just that, cruising to an 89-73 victory in Game 1 of the five-game series thanks to a dominant performance from Kelsey Mitchell who dropped 34 points.
"Our group was just, it was unbelievable," said Mitchell, who finished 12-of-23 from the field and 4-of-6 from 3. "We were resilient. They went on a run at the end of the [first] quarter, and I think that was big for us because we didn't fold. At any given time, we can and we won't, so I'm proud of our group."
Lexie Hull was among the few healthy guards from the start of the Fever's opening day roster following season-ending injuries to Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald and Chloe Bibby. During Sunday's win over the Aces, Hull finished with six points, two rebounds and two assists while posting the highest plus/minus.
While her performance was strong, it was her outfit - and "shredded" abs - that stole the show.

"Lexie Hull is shredded," one fan pointed out as others rushed to social media to find out her workout routine.
"We want the routine, Lex!" another fan said before a third added, "Those abs are insane."
Those looking for her routine are in luck as Hull posted her 10-minute abs finisher on TikTok just last year.
