Fever Player Had Simple Demand For Caitlin Clark Following Injury

In news that stunned the WNBA, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is set to miss multiple weeks due to a left quadriceps strain.

It's unclear when the injury occurred, as Clark was galloping around like her normal self during the team's 90-88 loss against the New York Liberty on Saturday. She finished the game with 18 points and 10 assists in 38 minutes of action, and her 2-of-11 shooting from three was seemingly the only strange occurrence that stood out.

As the team prepares to play the next handful of games without Clark, they are also trying to ensure that the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year heals up properly. Although this is a different injury from what she was dealing with in training camp, head coach Stephanie White hopes to mitigate any potential issues with the injury.

While Clark is down with an injury and is supposed to be resting, the former Iowa star was spotted taking some shots at a recent Fever practice. Although she knows her pain tolerance and what she is supposed to be doing or not, her veteran teammate, Damiris Dantas, was seen in the video telling her to take it easy.

Although Clark laughed at the advice from Dantas, who was selected with the No. 12 pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx, she did remain standing off to the side and dribbling the ball.

There's no doubt that fans around the league are disappointed that Clark is injured, as one of the games she will miss is a meeting with Angel Reese's Chicago Sky, but it's undoubtedly more difficult for her not to be playing with her team.

A sentiment that is only emphasized by the fact that Clark hasn't missed a regular-season game at any level of basketball since her sophomore year of high school at Dowling Catholic in Iowa.

The Clark-less Fever return to action on Wednesday, as they'll be taking on the Washington Mystics. The game will tip off at 7:30 ET and will air on NBA TV.
