Fever Rookie Raven Johnson Gives Caitlin Clark New Nicknames

Raven Johnson of the Indiana Fever has been getting adjusted to the speed and physicality of the WNBA in her rookie season. Johnson had her highest assist total (seven) on June 24 in a 111-109 loss to the Phoenix Mercury. In Indiana's last game, a 111-87 win over the Los Angeles Sparks, the Westlake High School graduate tied her second-highest assist total of the season (four).

After being selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, Johnson has been a solid locker room presence for her teammates. With center Aliyah Boston and guards Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark all being named 2026 WNBA All-Star Game starters on Thursday, it is important that the rookie guard meshes well with the established stars.

On Thursday, Indiana decided to go to social media to celebrate the announcement of the All-Star starters. In a video posted on X, Fever teammates of the All-Stars each made a statement in support of the Big Three being selected to start the game.

At the 1:02 mark of the video, it was Johnson's turn to speak. While speaking in support of the All-Star selections, the 5-foot-8 guard revealed one of her nicknames for Clark. Johnson first referred to Clark by personal nicknames such as "sister" and "auntie" before revealing "mamacita" as a new nickname for the former Iowa Hawkeyes star.

"...Caitlin Clark, my sister, my cousin," Johnson said in the video. "My auntie, my mamacita, my friend..."

"The sweetest messages for our All-Star starters ," Indiana wrote on X.
