For just the fourth time this season, the Indiana Fever have won back-to-back games.
Following an 99-82 win over the Atlanta Dream on Friday, the Fever won their second straight on Sunday with a 102-83 victory over the Dallas Wings and star rookie Paige Bueckers.
Star Fever guard Caitlin Clark put forth a solid performance in just her third game back from a groin injury, logging 14 points and a season-high 13 assists along with five steals, three rebounds, and a block.
And while Clark and her teammates were obviously rejoicing in their big win on Sunday, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year also had another reason to celebrate — it was her boyfriend Connor McCaffrey’s birthday.
The 23-year-old guard took to Instagram to celebrate McCaffrey’s big day, posting a series of photos with the caption that read: “Happy happy happy birthday con you make every day better and I couldn’t be more grateful. may this be the best year yet , i love you .”
McCaffrey, an assistant coach with the Butler Bulldogs, responded: “Love u ❤️.”
While most of Clark’s fans approve of her and McCaffrey’s relationship and their mushy happy birthday posts, how do Clark’s teammates feel about the 27-year-old, who’s an assistant coach with the Butler Bulldogs?
Well, one of Clark’s teammates and closest friends Lexie Hull seemingly answered that with her comment on Clark’s birthday post.
“We love Connor!” Hull responded before adding a second comment that read: “High quality third photo. Wonder who took it.”
Clark’s celebratory post came six months after McCaffrey made a similar post for her birthday back in January.
“Happy 23rd CC (finally we’re celebrating together this year)!” McCaffrey posted on Instagram. “You have an incredible ability to inspire and lift up those around you, and I am lucky to learn from you every day. … Thank you for always being you. I love you.”
Clark and McCaffrey have been together a little over two years. The couple went Instagram official back in August 2023.
