Sophie Cunningham made waves in her first season with the Indiana Fever. The 6-foot-1 guard played 30 games for the Fever before her season-ending injury. During that stretch, she averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 25.2 minutes per game.
Cunningham has kept busy during the offseason. She recently made the trip to Los Angeles for the NBA All-Star Weekend. The 29-year-old was one of the Adidas athletes who took part in the brand’s AntLAnd event. It was a fun, interactive setup for fans, inspired by Minnesota Timberwolves star and Adidas ambassador Anthony Edwards.
Cunningham also hosts a very successful podcast. She teamed up with reality TV star and longtime friend West Wilson to launch her own show, “Show Me Something.”
In a recent episode, Cunningham addressed a viral video wherein she is seen singing Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” inside a church. When asked by a fan if she would consider a singing career as a “Plan B,” the Fever star revealed that she actually has something in the works.
“Oh, I don't know if I would consider it as Plan B,” she said. “But you guys, I think that there might be something kind of cool in the background brewing that I might be doing something with someone. A little country artist, because that's more my vibe.
“So what happened is I work with 3 Arts now. So 3 Arts reached out and was like, ‘Hey, we know the guy who found and produces and started off like Hardy, Morgan Wallen and like four other people.’ And they're like, ‘She needs to get on a song.’ So I think something might be happening.”

Cunningham did not provide full details of her new project, but she said she’s working on a song with a country artist. It appears this is still in the planning stages, but the fact that she’s already teased it publicly suggests something should materialize soon.
As she mentioned in her statement, Cunningham recently signed with management firm 3 Arts Sports. She is looking to expand her opportunities beyond the WNBA and into entertainment, media and other ventures. Her upcoming country song is one of her first steps in this direction.
