Sophie Cunningham is entering her first season with the Indiana Fever after being traded from the Phoenix Mercury this past offseason.
The seventh-year WNBA veteran is expected to make a big impact for the Fever this year, showing glimpses of what she could do in the team’s first preseason game on May 3. Cunningham recorded 21 points, eight rebounds, and two assists in the 79–74 win over the Washington Mystics.
Following Indiana's final preseason game this past Saturday against the Atlanta Dream, the 6-foot-1 guard posted a video on her TikTok account, revealing that she does not have a boyfriend but wouldn't mind having one to take care of her.
"Lol but like I wouldn't mind a man to take care of me too ya know? #fyp," Cunningham captioned the post.

On Monday, Cunningham once again posted about not having a boyfriend—this time on Instagram, using the words "want" and "need."
She reposted the TikTok video on her Instagram story, adding a different caption.
"lol we still want and need the boy too," the 28-year-old wrote.
Cunningham was selected 13th overall in the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Mercury. She spent her entire career in Phoenix until this season, helping the team reach the WNBA Finals in 2021 and having her best year in 2022, when she averaged 12.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
Cunningham and Caitlin Clark will make their regular-season debut as teammates on Saturday, when the Fever open the year against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Tip-off in Indianapolis is set for 3 p.m. ET.
