DiJonai Carrington had a strong message after she was given a flagrant foul 1 during the Dallas Wings' 83-77 loss to the Seattle Storm on Tuesday.
As Skylar Higgins attempted to score on a fast break, Carrington delivered a hard foul.
The former Connecticut Sun star issued a strong message after the game, calling out the fans for pushing the narrative that she's a "dirty player."
"Yall fAnS swear i’m such a dirty player," Carrington said. "I’m SO over this narrative bc if u really know bball, u know I jus play hard asf & never give up on a play. &yup, we challenged the last couple flagrants & got em rescinded bc I’m ALWAYS tryna make a play on the ball nun more, nun less."
This message drew mixed reactions. Some attacked Carrington, bringing up her 2024 incidents with Caitlin Clark, while others supported her physicality.
Marina Mabrey was one of many who supported Carrington. The Connecticut Sun star went at it with the Wings guard during their collegiate career and their first years in the W.
They had an intense rivalry until the Chicago Sky sent Mabrey to Connecticut, where they seemed to connect on a deep level.
Mabrey sent a five-word message to her former teammate as she tried to get fans to stop attacking her.

This is a powerful message, more so knowing who it is from. Mabrey knew firsthand how intense things can be with Carrington. They used to get in each other's faces whenever they clashed, creating an entertaining rivalry.
The Wings are off to a poor start (1-7) after they drafted Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft. The partnership between Arike Ogunbowale and Carrington has yet to deliver more wins in the still-young 2025 season.
