The Phoenix Mercury made the playoffs this year, which was their second year in a row. The Mercury made the playoffs every year from 2013 to 2022, but a poor 2023 season snapped that streak. After that, Phoenix regrouped, and the team was back in the playoffs. The Mercury finished the season with a record of 19-21. They worked hard to get to the playoffs, and their new players helped them get to that point. Phoenix had new faces such as Kahleah Copper , Natasha Cloud and others, and they all had noteworthy seasons. They also helped the Mercury get through difficult stretches during that time. While Phoenix reached the postseason, the team did not play well in its last 10 games. They were 3-7 in those games, and they lost their last outing. The Seattle Storm beat them 89-70 in that game, and Brittney Griner was the leading scorer with 11 points. She also had eight rebounds, a steal and a block.
