The Indiana Fever’s offseason is already in full swing. It came earlier than they hoped for following their first-round elimination at the hands of the Las Vegas Aces. The team announced an update about Aliyah Boston on Thursday.

She enjoyed another strong campaign, helping Indiana finish the regular season with a 28-16 record. Boston and her teammates clinched the No. 6 seed and faced the defending champions with homecourt disadvantage. They pushed the series to a winner-take-all Game 3 on Oct. 1 but lost 94-83.

Boston finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever’s charge with 23 but struggled from the field, converting 7-of-23 attempts. Caitlin Clark backed her with 18 points on 6-of-18 shooting, along with four assists and three three-pointers.

Fever announce Aliyah Boston’s surgery

Indiana announced that Boston underwent successful arthroscopic knee injury. It was performed on Wednesday by Dr. Corey Kendall at OrthoIndy. The four-time All-Star will begin rehabilitation soon and the team will provide more updates when they become available.

“Aliyah Boston underwent a successful right knee arthroscopy to repair the lateral meniscus on Wednesday,” the Fever wrote.

Boston averaged 16.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks in 40 regular-season games. She earned her fourth All-Star nod and was named to Team USA’s roster for the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin.

Arthroscopic surgeries generally takes four to six weeks of recovery, while meniscus repairs requires three to six months of rehab. If both timelines hold true, Boston will be available ahead of opening night of the 2027 WNBA season. Indiana will continue to rely heavily on her as one of its key cogs. The team’s front office will have big decisions to make in the offseason to place Boston and Co. in the best position to win a title.
