Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston has moved up the franchise’s top three rebounding category.

The New York Liberty may have handed Indiana an 83-75 loss on Saturday, but Boston shattered another franchise record.

She became the franchise’s third-best rebounder with 1,116 boards to her name, surpassing Ebony Hoffman in the leaderboard.

Boston is only trailing Erlana Larkins and Tamika Catchings in this category. She is likely to surpass Larkins (1,191) this season. If the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year winner keeps this pace, she could become the record holder for most rebounds in Fever history.

The team announced the historic news on Instagram.

“Congratulations to @aliyah.boston for moving into third place for rebounds in franchise history

Aliyah Boston’s historic night not enough for Indiana Fever

The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 draft finished the game against the Liberty with 13 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. This production was at par with Boston’s season averages of 15.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Kelsey Mitchell led the team in scoring with 21 points, while Monique Billings and Caitlin Clark added double-digit outputs with 15 and 10 points, respectively.

However, it was not enough to secure the road win, as Breanna Stewart spearheaded the Liberty’s offense with a 30-point explosion.

This setback has sent the Fever to a 5-5 season record, but they remain the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.

They will continue their two-game road trip on Monday against the Washington Mystics before heading back home on June 11 against the Chicago Sky.

Indiana is on a mission to defend their Commissioner’s Cup title and make history as the only team in league history to repeat as tournament champions. Their record fell to 1-1 in the Commissioner’s Cup after Saturday’s disappointing loss in Barclays Center.
