One of the toughest aspects of WNBA training camps and preseason is finalizing the roster. Unlike the NBA, where teams can carry up to 15 players, the WNBA limits rosters to just 12. This means teams often enter training camp with more than 12 players and must make tough cuts over a short two-week period to reach the league’s roster limit.
After a couple of preseason games over the weekend, the Indiana Fever made some tough roster decisions on Monday, following Caitlin Clark’s thrilling performance in front of her Iowa fans at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday night.
The Fever have reportedly waived guard Bree Hall and forward Jillian Alleyne, both of whom saw action in Sunday’s game against the Brazilian National Team.
"we have waived guard Bree Hall." Fever posted. "thank you, Bree."

Fever fans reacted to the news:
"I'm glad to see you release her early to give her a chance on another roster. Good luck, Bree!" A fan said.
"Too many good players, not enough spots," another fan posted.
"dangit. I mean, five players fighting for one spot, but still. Roster expansion can’t come soon enough," someone else added.
One more fan commented, "The WNBA have to create more spot for these talented players. This is hard to see."
Hall and Alleyne didn’t log any minutes in Saturday’s win over the Washington Mystics, but both saw action on Sunday against the Brazilian National Team. Hall contributed nine points and four rebounds in 16 minutes, shooting 4-for-9 from the field, while Alleyne added three points, seven rebounds, and two assists in just 10 minutes of play.
