Amber Cox lauds Sophie Cunningham for her fourth-quarter heroics against the Connecticut Sun.

Indiana Fever general manager Cox was like a proud mother watching Cunningham explode in the final quarter of their game against the Sun on Saturday.

Cunningham helped Indiana secure an 85-75 win and defend their home court. She scored 11 points in the final two minutes of the game.

Cox immediately took to X to share her reaction to the development involving Cunningham.

“ShowMe Soph! Big time. ” she wrote, sharing the Fever’s highlight reel of the veteran guard’s heroics in the clutch.

Apart from the 11 points she contributed, Cunningham also added two rebounds and three triples. She helped cap off the team’s eighth win in the season and secure their third straight victory.

Caitlin Clark led the team in scoring against Connecticut with 25 points, along with three boards and five dimes.

The 29-year-old Missouri sharpshooter has been a valuable addition to the Fever ever since her arrival in 2025 via trade. This trade was orchestrated by Cox herself because she believes that Cunningham is a perfect fit alongside their superstar Clark.

Currently, the former second-round pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft is averaging 8.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 12 games.

Indiana Fever, Sophie Cunningham look to wrap up Commissioner’s Cup campaign on a high note

Even though they are out of contention to repeat as the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup champions, Indiana is looking to end their tournament season with a win.

Cunningham and Co. are set to welcome the Toronto Tempo to their home court in the lone WNBA game on Tuesday, their final tournament game.

A win for the Fever will keep them within striking distance of the Atlanta Dream in the race for the second seed in the East.
