Aliyah Boston gave the Indiana Fever an early scare in their first game after the All-Star break. The four-time All-Star left Tuesday’s 105-95 victory over the Seattle Stormafter suffering a right lower leg injury in the second quarter, ending her night after just 11 minutes. Before exiting, Boston had already scored 11 points, converting four of her seven shot attempts from the field.

The injury was concerning because Boston has once again been one of Indiana’s best players. She is averaging 17.1 points (52.8% FG), 8.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 25 games and has helped her team climb to 18-10.

The Fever have won four consecutive games, scoring at least 100 points in each outing, and are looking to extend that streak when they visit the Portland Fire on Friday. The team listed Boston as probable on Thursday’s injury report, with Caitlin Clark (back), Monique Billings (left hip) and Damiris Dantas (left knee) also appearing on the report.

She has now been cleared to play on Friday after getting through practice without any significant issues.

Head coach Stephanie White confirmed after Tuesday’s game that the Fever simply chose to be cautious but stopped short of providing a clear update on Boston.

“No update, other than it wasn’t really worth the risk for us in the second half. Just want to be very conservative and make sure that she’s good to go,” White told reporters.

The Fever will again field their superstar trio, with Boston at center, Clark at point guard and Kelsey Mitchell at shooting guard. Billings is also available, while Lexie Hull is expected to start ahead of Sophie Cunningham.
