The Indiana Fever find themselves in the middle of the playoff race as the 2025 WNBA regular season nears its end. Sitting at 21-19, the Fever were able to jump from eighth to seventh in the league standings thanks to the Seattle Storm's loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday.
On Tuesday, the Fever, still without Caitlin Clark, will try to close their three-game West Coast road trip with a win against Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury. With the Fever, Sparks, Valkyries and Storm all bunched up in the standings, every game is now a must-win for Indiana.
And with just four games remaining in the regular season, the Fever found themselves with a contract decision to make.
In light of the Fever's guard situation, with Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald out for the year, the Fever brought in guard Shey Peddy on a seven-day hardship contract on August 19. The former Sparks guard did enough to earn a second seven-day contract a week later.
In five games with Indiana, Peddy has played well, averaging 5.6 points on 50% shooting and 2.0 assists.
On Tuesday, just hours before their matchup with Phoenix, the Fever announced they have signed Peddy to a third hardship contract, making her available for three of the final four games.
"we have signed Shey Peddy to a third 7-day hardship contract," the Fever wrote on X.

With Clark still out, the Fever can expect to give Peddy some playing time. But she isn't the only guard Indiana has brought in light of their injuries.
Odyssey Sims signed three seven-day contracts with Indiana before earning a rest-of-season deal on Sunday. Aerial Powers is also in the middle of her second hardship contract, which she signed on Saturday.
