It’s been a wild month of June for the Indiana Fever. With Caitlin Clark in and out of the lineup due to injuries, the team leaned on several key contributors. That depth helped keep the Fever in the mix in the WNBA standings and still very much a threat when healthy.
Two players who stepped up in a big way are Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston. The chemistry between them has been a major bright spot throughout the month.
On Tuesday, the Fever highlighted one of Mitchell’s standout moments with a post on X announcing a special recognition, "Kelsey Mitchell’s perfectly placed no-look dime to Aliyah Boston against the Wings is the Dish of the Month scooped by Chicken Salad Chick."

This monthly honor celebrates the best assist from a Fever player. For May, it went to Caitlin Clark for her full-court pass to Mitchell in a game against the Liberty.
Mitchell has been outstanding for Indiana. She's averaging 18.9 points and 2.9 assists per game this season. In the last two games, both without Clark in the lineup, Mitchell scored 20 points in a loss to the Sparks and exploded for 32 points in a win at Dallas. She also tallied seven assists against the Wings.
The 29-year-old guard was drafted second overall in 2018 out of Ohio State, where she was the 2017 Big Ten Player of the Year. Since entering the league, Mitchell has made two WNBA All-Star appearances, was named to the All-Rookie Team in 2018, and won the Dawn Staley Award.
With Clark entering her second WNBA season and Boston continuing to develop into a star, Mitchell’s leadership and production give the Fever a solid foundation to compete deep into the season, and possibly beyond.
