WNBA veteran Natasha Howard returned to the Indiana Fever during the past offseason and immediately established herself as a key member of the team. In fact, Howard was named the Commissioner's Cup MVP after she led the franchise to the championship against the Minnesota Lynx.
Howard, who played for Indiana back in 2014 and 2015, averaged 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 44 games played during the regular season. In the playoffs, which saw the Fever make it to the WNBA semifinals, she put up 9.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists
Howard is a free agent this offseason, and while it remains to be seen if Indiana will bring her back, the team remains supportive and appreciative of her after everything she did for the franchise.
On Friday, it was announced that Howard will become the fifth player in Florida State women's basketball history to have her jersey retired. FSU Women's Basketball made the announcement on social media, noting that the ceremony will be held on Nov. 16.
After seeing the announcement, the Fever were quick to react and congratulate Howard on the incredible honor.
"let’s goooo Tash," the Fever wrote, along with a heart emoji.

According to Seminoles.com, Florida State will hold Howard's jersey retirement ceremony at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center after their game against Indiana.
Sure enough, there's no denying that Howard deserves the recognition. She played 129 games for Florida State and tallied 1,811 points, all while setting then-school records in career rebounds (1,047) and double-doubles (41).
Howard is well-loved by the Fever, and while her future remains uncertain, the team's admiration for her legacy is clear.
