Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever were looking to secure their first win of the three-game road trip, taking on a familiar foe.
Late Tuesday night, Clark and the Fever faced the Seattle Storm, marking their first game against former Indiana guard Erica Wheeler.
Wheeler had spent the last two seasons with the Fever, earning a starting spot in 2023. However, after averaging 9.9 points, she took a backseat upon Clark's arrival in 2024. Wheeler departed from the Fever over the offseason, signing with the Storm.
And Clark had a moment against Wheeler that caught the Fever's attention.
With just over 9:20 remaining in the third quarter, Clark found herself in a one-on-one situation with Wheeler at the top of the arc. As the former Iowa star drove to her right, she cut back to her left with a behind-the-back dribble, creating separation from her former teammate.
Clark ended up getting an open lane to the basket, hitting an easy layup to increase Indiana's lead to eight. This marked just Clark's fourth point of the night.
After the play, the Fever took to social media to share the highlight clip, sending a subtle message about Wheeler in the process.
"Caitlin Clark wheelin' and dealin' to start Q3," the Indiana Fever wrote on X.

Wheeler began her first season in Seattle coming off the bench but was recently replaced Alysha Clark in the starting lineup due to her strong play. Through 14 games this season, she is averaging 11.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
Following the Storm clash, Clark and the Fever will head back to Indianapolis to host the Los Angeles Sparks in their next game on Thursday.
