The Indiana Fever are starting to get back in rhythm under head coach Stephanie White.
On Friday, Indiana announced the return of Caitlin Clark, who had missed the last five games due to injury. Fever guard Sophie Cunningham also participated in practice ahead of the team's game against the New York Liberty.
Despite all the highs for Fever fans, they also lost one of their most electric players, Aari McDonald.
McDonald was added to the roster on an emergency hardship exception when the Fever were looking to meet the 10-player roster minimum required by the WNBA.
Amid Clark's return, McDonald was released by the team. Indiana announced the news while sending a thankful message to the WNBA guard.
"To meet the 10-player roster minimum and WNBA emergency hardship exception requirements, we have waived guard Aari McDonald," posted the official social media account of the Indiana Fever. "Thank you, Aari."
