Indiana Fever Sign Former Draft Pick Ahead of Sparks Game

The Indiana Fever began the 2026 regular season with a heartbreaking 107-104 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Wings. The Fever got big contributions from its stars, as Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston all scored at least 20 points.

After this loss, head coach Stephanie White and the Fever's front office were looking for something to add to the team that could help the rest of the year. Going into this season, Indiana had just one player on its development roster: Justine Pissott, the Fever's 2026 second-round draft pick.

On Monday, the Fever decided to bring back a familiar face, Bree Hall, to add to their development squad.

Hall was the second-round pick by the Fever in the 2025 WNBA Draft out of South Carolina, but she was waived after training camp. She then signed multiple hardship contracts with the Golden State Valkyries before joining the Fever again in September on a hardship contract.

On Monday, the Indianapolis Star's Chloe Peterson reported that the Fever were signing Hall to a development contract.

The 6-foot-1 guard played four total games in the regular season last year between the Valkyries and the Fever before making four appearances in the 2025 playoffs with Indiana.

Hall now takes up the final development roster spot available for the Fever this season. These contracts are usually made for players who have less than three years of experience in the WNBA. She will have the opportunity to be activated for 12 games this season and take part in all team activities, including traveling and practicing with the Fever, Peterson said.

The former Gamecocks star will hope to provide a spark for the Fever, which are looking to make a deep run in the postseason this year.
