WNBA star Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever has “no timetable” to return from her right groin injury.

Clark hasn’t played since July 15.

“It’s day-to-day right now,” Fever head coach Stephanie White said. “We’re really just putting no timetable on it. Going through the rehab process and then we want to reintegrate her from a strength and conditioning standpoint and then get her back to basketball activities.”

Clark has played in only 13 games this season for the Fever. She’s averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists while shooting 36.7% from the field, 27.9% from beyond the arc and 82.0% from the free-throw line.

Clark won the Rookie of the Year Award last season. She was the first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The Iowa product has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists with the Fever, who are 17-13 on the season.

Indiana is fourth in the WNBA in points per game, eighth in points per game allowed, fourth in offensive rating, seventh in defensive rating and fourth in net rating. The Fever are this year’s Commissioner’s Cup Champions. They won the Commissioner’s Cup despite Clark being injured.

The WNBA needs Clark back, as she’s a major asset to the league. When Clark suffered a left quad injury on May 24 and missed almost a month, WNBA TV ratings went down more than 50%.

A proficient scorer and passer, Clark missed the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indiana. Ticket prices and viewership decreased after she announced she wouldn’t play.

Clark has many fans, with one of them being WNBA legend Diana Taurasi.

“Me and Caitlin are really good friends,” Taurasi said about Clark. “We get along really well. We’ve had some great interactions. I just absolutely love what she does on the court, off the court. When I watch her play and the way she goes about her business, there’s a seriousness about it that I love.

“And, you know, she’s taking this game to new heights and it’s been amazing to watch and follow her. And, you know, it’s only gonna get better for our league and for Caitlin.”
