Indiana Fever Star Sophie Cunningham Announces Offseason Plans

Sophie Cunningham was forced to watch from the bench as the Indiana Fever’s 2025 WNBA season ended with a Game 5 loss to the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals. Acquired in an offseason trade with the Phoenix Mercury, Cunningham shined in her first season with the Fever, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. However, she missed the entire postseason after tearing her MCL.

Cunningham strengthened her personal brand in her first year with Indiana, nearly doubling her social media following after establishing herself as the team’s enforcer. She also launched her own podcast, “Show Me Something,” and signed endorsement deals with several major brands, including Adidas, Ring and Arby’s, which she revealed on Instagram at the end of July, sharing photos of herself wearing a shirt that read, “HOT GIRLS EAT ARBY’S.”

And in the most recent episode of her podcast , the former Missouri Tigers guard also announced that she will be in New York City to appear on the Oct. 27 episode of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” alongside hosts Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and NFL legend Michael Strahan.

“This is totally off the topic of what we’re talking about, but on the 27th, I’m going to be on 'Good Morning America' and I’ll be up in New York," Cunningham said. "It is Arby’s. It’s with Arby’s. And so, we’re going to talk about their new product… I’ll be talking about Arby’s, which is like the main gig and then I’ll also be talking about our podcast. I’ll be talking about the WNBA. I’ll be talking about just life in general. So I have like a big segment.”

While Cunningham prepares for her first appearance on the popular morning show, the Fever are preparing for some potential changes in the offseason. Only Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Makayla Timpson remain under contract in 2026, while players such as Cunningham saw their contracts end, becoming free agents.
