Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham's 2025 season ended prematurely due to a knee injury. She tore her right MCL during an August game against the Connecticut Sun, which required her to undergo surgery.
Cunningham played in just 30 games, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steal. She also shot 46.9% from the field and 43.2% from 3-point range. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to join Indiana in the postseason because of her setback.
Now, the seven-year WNBA veteran is recovering and undergoing rehab, all while navigating free agency.
As if the situation wasn't tough enough for her, however, Cunningham recently learned that she can't tolerate foods containing dairy and gluten, as well as rice, beef, pork and pineapple because they cause stomach issues for her.
In the latest episode of her "Show Me Something" podcast, Cunningham talked about the result of the food sensitivity test that she had. While she said that her stomach problems have been "brutal," she refused to believe that she can't eat the foods to which she's supposed to be highly sensitive.
"I'm like allergic to or not allergic, highly, highly sensitive to, like dairy, beef, pork, pineapple, rice, seaweed any type of cheese," Cunningham said. "But I don't believe in that. I don't believe in this test to be honest."
By the looks of it, Cunningham doesn't plan to fully stopping eating the foods she likes, sensitive or not.
That doesn't mean the Fever free agent is eating unhealthily, though, as she recently revealed that she has a new diet in an effort to take care of herself better.
