The Indiana Fever have surged to a 4-2 record this season after winning four of their last six games. This strong start ties Indiana for the second-best record in the WNBA. Much of this success follows Lexie Hull’s return to the active rotation, and head coach Stephanie White spoke highly of her.
Hull missed the Fever’s entire 2026 preseason slate due to a nagging hamstring injury she sustained during training camp. However, the veteran guard was cleared in time for the regular-season opener against the Dallas Wings. She has since joined the starting lineup, with the team carefully managing her minutes to prevent any setbacks.
In her first two games, the 26-year-old guard was limited to 10 to 15 minutes. Aware of her impact on the court despite modest box-score numbers, White has gradually increased Hull’s playing time since.
Speaking to reporters on Monday afternoon, White had only good things to say about Hull. The coach praised her for her dedication, work ethic and reliability as a teammate.
“It’s funny because I was talking with one of her college assistant coaches just yesterday, and she was like, ‘Have you ever had a bad day coaching Lexi?’” White said. “And it’s like, ‘no,’ because she just goes out and busts her butt every single day.”
“And again, she’s a good teammate. She’s got good energy, and she does whatever you ask all the time. And we know she’s going to be solid for us.”
Hull entered the league as the sixth overall pick by the Fever in the 2022 draft. In April, Indiana re-signed her to a two-year, $1.6 million deal. It will keep the 6-foot-2 guard with the team through the 2027 season.
Her new contract reflects how much the organization values her impact on both ends of the floor. In 2025, she helped the Fever win the Commissioner’s Cup and reach their first WNBA semifinals in a decade. In that campaign, she played all 44 games, averaging career highs of 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals.
The fifth-year guard continues to provide steady production for the Indiana lineup. Across six appearances this season, Hull averages 7.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists.
She delivered her top performance during a 90-73 blowout against the Portland Fire on May 20. Hull scored 16 points, hitting all four 3-point shots and all four free throws, along with eight rebounds.
Indiana travels to San Francisco on Thursday for a highly anticipated rematch against the Golden State Valkyries.
