Sophie Cunningham had a 2025 season to remember. After being traded to Indiana from the Phoenix Mercury ahead of the season, she quickly became a key contributor on both ends of the floor, known for her shooting, defense, and partnership alongside Caitlin Clark.

In 30 games in 2025, Cunningham averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 25.2 minutes per game, knocking down 1.7 three-pointers per game at a 43.2% clip while helping the Fever in their push to the playoffs.

Her season ultimately ended prematurely in August 2025 after suffering a torn MCL, a significant knee injury that forced her out for the remainder of the year and required extensive rehab.  By the end of the season, her one-year contract with Indiana had expired, making her an unrestricted free agent as the 2026 offseason began.

Her free agency comes amid ongoing negotiations between the WNBA and the players’ union on a new collective bargaining agreement, which could impact the timing and structure of the 2026 league schedule.

While Cunningham hopes to be fit and ready to go next season, her off-court profile has continued to grow.

On Thursday, Sophie Cunningham signed with 3 Arts Sports, the sports management division of Lionsgate’s 3 Arts Entertainment, as she expands her brand into entertainment, media, and business ventures.

The company announced the signing on social media Thursday with the simple welcome: “Welcome to the 3 Arts Sports team, Sophie Cunningham ✨.”

3 Arts Sports works with athletes and entertainers to build multi-platform brands, storylines, partnerships, and media opportunities. Through this partnership, Cunningham will lean on the company’s resources and network to grow her brand presence and extend her reach beyond traditional basketball coverage.

Cunningham is already building a presence off the court. Alongside representing brand partnerships and hosting her podcast, “Show Me Something,”  she has appeared as a guest analyst for Phoenix Suns games and worked on other media projects.

3 Arts’ roster also includes high-profile athletes such as Travis Kelce , Myles Garrett and Jayden Daniels, giving Cunningham access to a broad entertainment and brand ecosystem.

Although Cunningham has now signed with 3 Arts Sports, she will still monitor her WNBA opportunities as free agency officially resumes this spring, contingent on the league and players reaching a new CBA agreement.
