Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is officially back to competitive basketball eight months after suffering a groin injury. She's now part of Team USA, which is set to play in the upcoming FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Clark, who played just 13 games in the 2025 WNBA season and averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists, was selected for the Team USA roster alongside the likes of Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese.
On Sunday, USA Basketball unveiled Clark's official photos wearing the national team jersey. It also revealed her jersey number, which is 12 — not the No. 17 she wore during training camp or her signature number, No. 22.
Ahead of the qualifiers, Clark shared a personal update on Instagram, sharing photos of herself working out with her Fever teammates and simply hanging out with her friends.
Clark also included a photo of herself in a Team USA jersey to celebrate her selection to the senior squad.
"little bit of life lately," Clark wrote in the caption of the post.
Naturally, the post drew plenty of reactions, including one from Fever teammate Aliyah Boston, who was also supposed to be with Team USA before an injury forced her to be sidelined.
One comment that stood out, however, was from her fellow WNBA player and former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate Kate Martin.
Martin took notice of Clark's Team USA jersey and highlighted how good it looks on her.
"Red white & blue looks good on you," Martin wrote.
Martin and Clark played together at Iowa from 2020 to 2024, and they were also drafted into the WNBA in the same year. Obviously, they have remained close despite the fact that they are now playing for different teams in the pros.
The two often interact on social media, and they continue to poke fun at and tease each other. When the Fever met Martin's Golden State Valkyries in June 2025, Clark was seen trolling her former college teammate.
This time, though, Martin made sure to show her support for Clark and cheer for her as the competition approaches. The FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament is scheduled from March 11 to 17.
