Kate Martin Reacts to Heartfelt Message from Former Teammate

As the upcoming season draws closer, players and organizations have taken to social media to prepare fans and spectators for the excitement of the 2025 season.

As reported by AthlonSports.com, on Wednesday, Las Vegas Aces Star A’ja Wilson and her former teammate, Kate Martin shared a heartfelt exchange on Instagram that exposed Martin’s true feelings about Martin’s debut with the Golden State Valkyries.

Kate Martin was picked up in the expansion draft in the offseason by the Valkyries.

Martin shared a photo of herself in her new Valkyries uniform. Wilson was moved to enter the chat.

Wilson commented, “Lawd ham mercy my baby is growing up,” Wilson shared along with a string of emojis.

“Miss you A!!!” Martin added in response to her superstar ex-teammate’s message.

Hailing from Edwardsville, Illinois, Martin was selected in the 2024 WNBA Draft out of Iowa after helping the Hawkeyes reach the national championship game but suffering back-to-back losses to LSU and South Carolina.

Martin now has the chance to forge her own path in a new city, with a new team.
