Kelsey Mitchell Reveals What People Don't Understand About Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever scored a much-needed win on Friday night despite missing the services of Caitlin Clark, who sat out her second straight game due to a groin injury.

Despite Clark's absence, the Fever were still able to secure a victory against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, 94-86, to mark their eighth win of the season.

It was a concerted team effort from Indiana, who got big performances from the likes of Kelsey Mitchell (32 points, seven assists), Aliyah Boston (21 points, six rebounds) and Natasha Howard (15 points, 13 boards).

It was a season-high performance for Mitchell, who stepped it up yet again amid Clark's injury. After the game, however, the two-time All-Star turned her attention to Howard, whom Mitchell had nothing but high praise for.

“Tasha’s a pro, and she’s done it and she’s won,” Mitchell said, via Nathan Baird of IndyStar. “People don’t really understand the kind of pros we have on our team — the ones that have won."

Both Mitchell and Howard came up big down the stretch against Dallas. As Mitchell indicated, this highlighted the significance of the experience these two veterans have under their belts.

Howard, in particular, is a three-time WNBA champion. As Mitchell said, the former Defensive Player of the Year is a true professional, which is something that some folks tend to underestimate.

The Fever have title aspirations this season, and there is little doubt, if any, that Howard will play an integral role in their quest for a championship.
