Kelsey Mitchell Sends Powerful Message to Indiana Fever Coach

Christmas-Kelly’s second stint as a Fever assistant coach started in 2024. She also suited up for the team as a player and was part of Indiana’s championship squad in 2012.

The Fever have four games remaining on their schedule. They will return to action on Thursday against the Toronto Tempo at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Mitchell and Co. are 26-14 on the season and currently fifth in the standings. They have the same record as the Atlanta Dream, but it’s Angel Reese and Co. who own the tiebreaker. Both teams are trailing the third-seeded Las Vegas Aces by one game.

All eight playoff berths have been clinched, but the final seedings are still to be determined.

Mitchell is enjoying another strong campaign. She is averaging a career-high 25.0 points, along with 1.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals through 40 games.

The 30-year-old has recorded 24 straight regular-season games with 20-plus points, setting a new league record. Indiana will continue to rely heavily on her, along with Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

The Fever are aiming for a deeper playoff run this year, with their sights set on the franchise’s first WNBA championship since 2012.
