Las Vegas Aces one game closer to WNBA Championship with 85-71 win over Connecticut Sun

The Las Vegas Aces are one game away from winning the WNBA Championship after beating the Connecticut Sun, 85-71.

The Aces were led by forward A'ja Wilson, who had an incredible plus-18 night with 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field and 6-of-8 shooting from the free-throw line. Wilson also notched a double-double, pulling in 10 boards.

Chelsea Gray was right on Wilson's heels with 21 points, eight assists, three rebounds and three steals. The Aces shot 51.6 percent from the field as a team and at one point boasted a lead of 20 points over the Sun.

Speaking of the Sun, guard Courtney Williams led the way for Connecticut with 18 points, five assists and two rebounds while forward Jonquel Jones added 16 points, 11 rebounds and three assists.

It was a sellout crowd at Michelob Ultra Arena and the Aces delivered in front of 10,211 adoring WNBA fans.

The WNBA Finals follow a 2-2-1 best-of-five format so the next game will be this Thursday, September 15th at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

If the Aces win again and sweep the series, they will win the first WNBA Championship in franchise history.
