Friday’s matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Los Angeles Sparks wasn’t just a clash between two teams with WNBA Playoffs aspirations this season.
For Fever guard Lexie Hull, it was an opportunity to play against one of her former Stanford teammates, Cameron Brink, in what was an on-court reunion of sorts for the former Cardinal standouts.
Hull and Brink played two years together at Stanford, which resulted in an NCAA championship in 2021. These two formed quite a bond during their time together with the Cardinal, and this was evident during Friday’s WNBA matchup.
At one point in the contest, Brink was seen attempting to high-five Hull as the latter shared a moment with her Fever teammates. Brink quickly realized her mistake and ended up laughing with Hull.

Both players caught wind of their hilarious in-game moment from Friday’s matchup, and they took to Instagram to react to the same.
Hull was the first to share a post from Overtime WBB that captured their unexpected exchange.
"just like the good ole days @cameronbrink22 ," she wrote.
Brink didn’t waste any time responding to her former teammate’s nostalgic post.
“My girl❤️,” replied the Sparks star.

In the end, it was Indiana that secured a hard-fought 76-75 victory. Hull got the start and chipped in with five points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.
Brink, on the other hand, came off the bench to provide four points, five rebounds, a steal and two blocks. The 6-foot-4 forward has remained with the second unit for the Sparks after recently returning from a year-long injury absence due to a torn ACL. She registered 17 minutes against Indiana, as she continues to work her way back to full strength.
This was a crucial victory for Hull and Co. as the Fever inched closer to securing a playoff berth. They remain sixth in the league, but have increased their lead over the Sparks to three games after Friday’s win.
For L.A., the tough loss to the Fever saw them fall two games behind the Golden State Valkyries for the eighth and final postseason spot in the WNBA. The Sparks have seven games remaining in the regular season, and they will need to get their act together if they want to secure that playoff spot.
